ARMIJO -- Amado G. Armijo, 89, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 4, 2009 peacefully at home. Amado is survived by his grandchildren that he raised, Gina and Aaron Candelaria; children Patsy, Yolanda, Benjie, Stevie, and Felipe Candelaria; special great-granddaughter Miranda "Panda" Candelaria; other grandchildren Stephen, Tyrone, and Thalia Candelaria; also brothers and sisters Eddie Madrid, Manuel Armijo, Cristela Martinez and Sadie Armijo. Preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Armijo and parents, Lazarro Armijo and Terisita Madrid. BENAVIDEZ -- George R. Benavidez III, 27, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday August 4, 2009. Very loving son, brother, and uncle, he will be dearly missed. DONALDSON -- Gerald E. Donaldson, Sr., 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 due to respiratory failure. Jerry was born to Nora Smith Donaldson and Charles Donaldson in St. Louis, MO on April 23, 1947 and lived in Albuquerque, NM since 1963. He married Mary Ann Wasko in February 14, 1957. He entered the United States Army in May 1954 and retired from military service in 1974. He attained the rank of Major, having served in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, Jerry was awarded many medals and awards including Two Bronze Stars with valor earned during the Tet Offensive. After his military career, Jerry was employed by Albuquerque Federal S&L/AMDEC before starting his own business, Donaldson & Associates Real Estate Appraisal Company where he retired in 2003. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Donaldson in 2004; and children, Lowell Ray Donaldson in 1998 and Mark A. Donaldson in 2006. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gerald E. Jr. and Debra Donaldson of Honolulu, HI; daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Andy Mumma of Los Lunas, NM; daughter-in-law, Maggie Donaldson, Albuquerque; grandchildren, Christin and Christopher Lindsey of Buda, TX, Jill Rodriguez of Kyle, TX, Nicole Mumma of Greensboro, NC, Michael Donaldson and Matthew Donaldson both of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Christopher Cary and Andrew Rodriguez; niece, Bobbie Donaldson of St. Louis, MO; sister, Jacqueline of St. Louis, MO; and many dear friends. Jerry was very proud to have served his country in the US Army. He was a hero for serving in the US Army and especially as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. We loved him and will miss his smiling face forever. ESTRADA -- Melvin E. Estrada, 59, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009. Melvin was born June 11, 1950 the son of Henry and Rose Baca Estrada in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He had worked in the grocery business before his death. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Estrada. Melvin is survived by his parents, Henry and Rose Estrada; two sons, Henry Estrada and Mel Estrada; stepson, Earl Nage, and step-daughter, Holly Nage; four grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Estrada; and one sister, Betty Montoya and husband Jerry; four nephews, and two nieces. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 1:30 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. GLOBER -- Elreena "Ga" Glober, 94, born in Santa Fe and resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Garcia and husband, Luther C.; granddaughters, Elisa Chavez and husband, Matthew, and Elreena Garcia; nieces, Rena Mae Cappel, Carol Ann Polaco and husband, Larry, Sandra Jean Miner and husband, Robert, and Charlotte Higgins and husband, Larry; nephew, William Arrighi and wife, Sandra; and several generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Q. Glober; parents, Mabel and William Dominic Arrighi; sister, Corinne Gonzales; and brother, William John Arrighi. Elreena was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She graduated from Regina School of Nursing and worked as a nurse at St. Vincent's in Santa Fe, and St. Joseph's and Presbyterian in Albuquerque. She cared for and helped raise many members of her family and friends. Special thanks to her home care nurses, Roni Lockhart and Jackie Coleman and the staff at Vista Care Hospice. HARRIS -- Velma Harris, 86, passed away on August 4, 2009. She was born August 1, 1923, in Grady County, OK, to William and Goldie Bennett. Velma is survived by her three children, Paula Avery and her husband Rod, Katherine Brodie and her husband Rick, and Sharon Harris; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Otis Bennett. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Jay Dee. Velma was an active member of the Peace Makers Quilting group, and a devoted member of the Hoffmantown Church. IRWIN -- Charles E. Irwin, 77, born in Boise City, OK, passed away August 3, 2009. Charles owned & operated Irwin's Metal & Gun Safes since 1971. He was an avid trapshooter and hunter. Charles was a past president and lifetime member of the Albuquerque Trap Club. Charles is survived by his brother Willard "Bill" Irwin; sister Ruby Brown; ex-wife and friend, Lanora G. Irwin; children Denise Irwin, Connie Trautmann, Charles R. Irwin, Karen Patterson, Brian Irwin, Holly Irwin, grandchildren Airen Patterson, Charles W. Irwin, Cody Irwin, Chris Irwin, Emily Irwin, Andrew Irwin; and three great-grandchildren. Charles was buried August 6, 2009 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

JONES -- Larry DeWayne Jones A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Larry D. Jones, 73, of Pflugerville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Pflugerville, TX. Born February 24, 1936, in Oklahoma and raised in Belen, NM, Larry married Doralea Middleton on February 1, 1958. They had three daughters, Kelley, Jacqueline (Jacque), and Leslie. Larry worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for more than 40 years. He worked as a call boy, brakeman, conductor, trainmaster, and retired as an assistant superintendent. His career took him to Gallup, NM, Redlands, CA, Barstow, CA, Needles, CA, and La Junta, CO. In 1994, Larry and Dori retired and moved to Pflugerville to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Larry's family and friends were important to him and he kept in touch with many friends from over the years. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he was dedicated to them, their educations, and their interests. He enjoyed every minute he spent watching and helping them grow into the remarkable human beings they have and will become. Jones is survived by his wife of more than 52 years, Doralea; two daughters and their families, Kelley Jones King and her spouse Eddie, and their two children, Michelle and Laurenm Jacque Waddle and her spouse David, and their children, Larry, Audrey, and Janie; a sister, Rosemary and Kenneth Trinkle; and a brother, Dr. Jerry and Geri Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. JORDAN -- Carol Ann Jordan, 64, passed away at her home on June 31, 2009. Carol was born in Franklin, TN and spent her adolescence in Los Alamos, NM. Carol was a nurse and spent the majority of her life caring for others as a mother, a daughter and as an elder caregiver. It is her giving nature and caring disposition that will be so missed by those who love her. She is survived by her four children, David Hood and his wife Sherry of Albuquerque, Ross Hood of Roswell, NM, Marilyn (Hood) Fox and her husband Don of Dallas, TX, and Alice Hood of Albuquerque. Also surviving their "Gramma" are her six grandchildren, Jessica Montgomery, Rebecca and Justin Hill, Nathanial Fox, Kytle Hood and Ashley Hood. Carol will also be greatly missed by her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

MARTIN -- Rose Severino Martin passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 after suffering a massive stroke last Friday which eventually took her life. Rose was 85 years of age and an Albuquerque resident for 40 years. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Severino of Albuquerque, her son Carl Severino of Peoria, Illinois, daughter-in-law Vonni Severino; and grandchildren Taylor, Paul, Carl and Jeanine. Rose Martin will be cremated at Riverside Funeral Home with a private family burial service to occur at a later date, where she will be laid to rest next to her deceased son, Chuck Severino.

ONSUREZ -- Natividad "Buster" Onsurez, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for seven years, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Luz; son, Orlando Onsurez and wife, Mary Ann of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Elizabeth Ratliff and husband, Jim, of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Trish Eichwald and husband, Alejandro, Erica Ratliff, Jenna Svela and husband, Eric, and Adam Jacobs and wife, Julie; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Svela, Payton, Alexis, and Devin Eichwald; brothers, Lawrence Onsurez of El Monte, CA and Joe Onsurez of, CA; and numerous other relatives and friends. Buster was preceded in death by his four sisters. Mr. Onsurez was born on December 25, 1921 in Carlsbad, NM to Guadalupe and Concepcion Pena Onsurez. He was raised in the Carlsbad area until joining the United States Army in June of 1942. After his honorable discharge in April of 1946, Buster worked at Amax Chemical Corp. in a potash mine for 31 years, retiring in 1984. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Onsurez was also a member of the AARP. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. RAMIREZ -- Margarita Ramirez, 70, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Margarita is predeceased by her parents Martin and Carlotta (Balbuena) Gomez; her sister Maria Griffith; and brother Antonio Balbuena. She is survived by children, Lorenzo Gomez, George Ramirez, Veronica Ramirez and Carla and husband David Baca, all of Albuquerque, NM; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Jose Balbuena, Carlos Balbuena, Mono Balbuena; three sisters, Rosario Lechuga, Socorro Vigil, Andrea Reyes and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Margarita had a gift for caring. She is remembered as that special person who always had something to offer or share, be it a meal to some one in need, a prayer or "consejo", whatever the need may be Margarita was always there to help. Her unconditional love for her family was her greatest gift. Margarita will be missed by all who knew her. TOLLESON -- Claire Jo Johnson Tolleson of Atlanta died August 6, 2009. She was born in Faunsdale, Alabama on May 30, 1927 to Pauline Barclay Johnson and Iris S. Johnson. She was in every aspect a wife and mother of noble character, a life lived in beautiful personification of Proverbs 31. Claire Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Guss Tolleson, Jr. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Anne Couch and Cindy and Dave Jollay; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Mayer Jollay Buisson and her husband Beau, Matt Jollay, Jesse Couch, his wife Amber and their daughter Adria; and one sister and brother-in-law, Eugenia and Glyn Giles, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at HM Patterson Funeral Home Oglethorpe Hill with Deanne Lynch officiating.
