SISNEROS -- Bernard G. Sisneros, Sr. It is with great sadness that the family of Bernard G. "Barney" Sisneros, Sr. announces his passing on Monday, June 15, 2009. Bernard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Sisneros; seven children, Bernice Sanchez and husband, Gary, Priscilla Baca and companion, Mike McGriff, Margaret Griego and husband, Gilbert, Loretta Torres and husband, George, Bernard Sisneros, Jr. and wife, Bennina, Christine Garcia and husband, Gilbert, David Sisneros and wife, Marisol; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Bernard was born in Valverde, NM on April 6, 1923. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He and Helen were married in 1943 and raised their seven children in the same home he was raised in by his parents Bernabe and Pablita Sisneros. For over 20 years he owned and operated Barney's Roofing Company retiring at the age of 65. Rosary will be recited Sunday, June 21, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the Rosary. Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 22, 2009, 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Griego, Paul Baca, Michael Griego, David Sisneros, Matthew Torres and Nathaniel Sisneros. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Garcia, Gregory Sanchez, Daniel Garcia, Richard Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Carlos Sisneros and Dominic Sisneros.
