CAMPBELL -- Joseph Nolen Campbell, On June 15, 2009 "Grandpa Joe" stepped out of this life and into his eternal life in Heaven. He was born January 4, 1919 in Marietta, OK. Joe was 90 years young. He was an Army Air Corp WWII veteran and Bataan March survivor. He was preceded in death by his wife Mariana Averill Campbell; parents, John Thomas and Viola Frances (Nolen) Campbell; brother, Alvin Campbell, Sr; sister, Lottie Mae Naomi Campbell; and by his grandson Joseph Seneca Campbell. He is survived by his daughter Clyda Sciumbato (Nick) and son Lee M. Campbell. He has two surviving grandchildren; Averill Sciumbato and William Campbell (Elizabeth). He is also survived by his nephew Alvin Campbell, Jr (Gretchen) and his niece Rosemary Weinstein (Ira). He has one great-niece, April Fechter (Jimmy) and four great-nephews; Tony (Linda), David, James (Sherri), and John. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Joe's family wishes to extend their appreciation to the VA Hospital, clinics, and staff and to the Presbyterian "Lung Gym" for providing such great care, which contributed to their father's longevity and good quality of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Presbyterian HealthPlex Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program c/o Presbyterian Health Care Foundation, PO Box 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125-6666 or to NMVAHCS, Voluntary Services-135, 1501 San Pedro, SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 4:30 p.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel.
