ZIMMERMAN -- Margie L. Zimmerman, a Socorro, NM resident since 1956, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009. Margie was born on April 5, 1936 in West Monroe, LA to Irby and Ruby (Gilbert) Jackson. She is survived by her son, Ray and wife, Cathy; grandson, David and wife, Melissa; and great-grandson, Joel; sister, Mary Wood and husband, Bob; nieces Rita Savanna and Sherri Bullard; nephews, Mike Wood and wife, Terri; Gary Wood; Eddie Murphy and wife, Diane; cousins Jeanette Cook; Carolyn Gaumnitz and families. Also the Zimmerman and Hughes families were close to her heart as she always considered them as part of her family; Pete and Alicia Hughes; Shawn Hughes; Mamie Hughes; Jerry and Brenda Hughes; Sally Ann Zimmerman; Ty and Missy Zimmerman; Kim and Kenny Mulligan; LaVella Mercer; Mark Mercer; Shirley Perkins; Mike and Patti Zimmerman; Rob and Libby Zimmerman; Holly and Harold Zuni; Larry and Bev Zimmerman; Janet and Ben Brown; Teri Thomas and families. Margie was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Socorro and had managed the Sands and Golden Manor Motels. She was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Ray and Cathy would like to thank Joe and Pat Powers, Frankie and Katy Maley and Margie's friends and relatives for all their love and support and Presbyterian Hospice for their excellent care. Special thanks to Rev. Laura Kuster and all the Deacons at the First Presbyterian Church of Socorro. Also a special thanks to Misty Romero and all of Margie's very close friends. Margie's wishes were to be cremated and have a Memorial Service accompanied with the relatives and friends she loved so much. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Socorro, 304 McCutcheon Ave., with Rev. Laura Kuster officiating. Margie was a loving mother and friend and was very kind and helpful to many people and will be dearly missed. May God bless her.
