BRAND -- Bernadette Gunn Brand, 68, the loving mother of five children, passed away on June 15, 2009 after a long illness. She is survived by two daughters, Darleen Kosick and Lisa Brand; three sons, Tom Kosick, Scott Brand, and Michael Brand, all of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her twin sister Eileen Stewart of Albuquerque, NM; her sister, Dorothy O'Sullivan of New Jersey; her brother Walter Gunn of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; along with many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brand; her brother, Hugh S. Gunn, Jr.; along with her mother and father. COLLINS -- Tejay Ross Collins, 26, Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Osborne, Kansas, died June 2, 2009. Tejay was born April 15, 1983 in Salina, Kansas, to Jim and Carmen Collins. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Osborne. He was a 2002 graduate of Osborne High School and a 2006 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and minor in German. He studied German abroad in Germany during the 2003-04 academic year. Tejay was currently a student in the master's of counseling program at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and was employed part-time as a UNM landscaper. He was an active member of Chi Sigma lota, Honor Society for Students, Professional Counselors and Counselor Educators. He married Amy Reeves on July 16, 2005. Survivors include his father Jim Collins of Osborne, his mother Carmen Gerber of Hays, a sister Shayna Richardson and husband Jack and their son Seth of Albert, Kansas. His grandparents Bob and Orletta Gerber of Salina, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dennis and Elizabeth Collins. In high school, Tejay participated in track, golf, cross country, basketball, church youth group, woodworking, skiing and music. Tejay was a remarkable young man who expressed his thoughts best through journaling and storytelling. Among his friends and family he showed unwavering generosity and loyalty, spending countless hours in extended conversation and thoughtful discussions with them. Because of his love for the outdoors, Tejay spent his free time hiking, camping and bicycling. His expertise at photography captured these adventures in beautiful calendar pictures that he shared with his family this past Christmas. Memorial Services will be held at the First Unitarian Church on Carlisle at six o'clock on Thursday, June 18, 2009, with a reception following the Service.

CUMMINGS -- Betty Lee, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 14, 2009. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Daniels Mortuary on Wyoming. A Burial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Risen Savior Catholic Church. She is survived by sons, John J. and wife Ruth and their children Elizabeth and John James, Kevin and wife Cindy and their children Kevin Jr. and Grace, all of Albuquerque and Tim and wife Jane and their children Emma, Mary, Catherine and Sarah of Colorado Springs; sisters Joan Mackey and Barbara Wise, and brother Alan Mackey all of Wichita; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2005; and by three brothers. Betty was born on October 15, 1936, in Danville, Kansas to Stella and Jerry Mackey and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita, Kansas. She was active in and was President of Casa Angelica Auxiliary. She was also active in several other organizations and was an avid bridge player. DORSO-LOCKE -- Edna Eloise Dorso Locke, 92, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, June 11, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Jack Locke, of the family home; children, Karen Elko of El Cajon, CA, David (Lori) Yates of Lake Tahoe, CA and Joe (Gwyn) Hoskins of Thoreau, NM; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Eloise was active in volunteering and Rving. She loved games and was involved in any fun activity. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world. DUBUQUE -- Frances M. Dubuque, age 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1987, died Sunday, June 14, 2009. Her final days were spent quietly at home, surrounded by her family and in their tender care. Her precious husband, Roger, preceded her in death in 1999. Frances is survived by her eight children, Nancy Talbot (Richard), Mark Dubuque, and David Dubuque of Ware, MA, Joyce Rosen (David) in Springfield, MA, Peter Dubuque (Veronica Marsh) in E. Hardwick, VT, Paul Dubuque (Amy) in Schertz, TX, and Marianne Billiot and Teresa Dubuque (Paul Houston) in Albuquerque; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, scattered all around the country. Frances will be mourned by many dear friends and relatives, including her sisters-in-law, Helen Kularski, Theresa Kularski and Claire Graves. Frances was a woman of great strength and genuine humility. She loved life and lived simply and honestly, working hard for her family. She never sought the limelight, rather, she supported others and cheered their accomplishments. Despite childhood hardships and the challenges of raising a large family, she rarely complained. Instead, Frances pressed on -- doing whatever was necessary, whatever the circumstance. She handled her many responsibilities with humor, resiliency, practicality and creativity -- sustained by her deep faith. Truly, she was a woman of noble character who will be keenly missed. A Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, June 18, 2009, 6:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming Chapel. A Memorial Rosary and Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 19, 2009, 1:00 p.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will be held at Mt. FARMER -- Jack H. Farmer Jr. June 7, 2009 GONE FISHING! Nisa's making sandwiches and Kenny & I are getting the boat ready! November 20, 1934, Jack Herschel Farmer Jr. was born in Roswell, NM to Judine Wilburn and Jack Herschel Farmer Sr. As a young boy he lived in Santa Rita, NM, and later moved to Albuquerque, NM. There he attended Ernie Pyle Jr. High and graduated from Albuquerque High School. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Venetia Elkins, and they began their family two years later. While attending UNM, Jack worked at Albuquerque Foundry and Iron Works until it's closing in 1969. That same year, he founded ForgeMaster Iron Inc. with Cecil Lopez, a friend and co-worker from the Foundry. Now the next generation will carry ForgeMaster Iron Inc. into the future. During the next fifty-four years, he and "Nisa" grew their family, Leslie, Max, Sean, Lissa, Joe, Lisa, Eric, Little Joe, Dean, Checko, Amanda, Ray, Dezi, Meklo, Stephanie, Lindsie Jacq, Madison, Jordan, Jacob, Cori, Mocha, Shawn "Cougar"; brothers-in-law, Brad and Wally; nieces, Stacy and Jana; nephew, Scott; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. HOWELL -- Ruby O. Price Howell, formerly of Albuquerque, died June 13 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Christian Church Chapel. INGRAM -- James H. Ingram, 62, resident of Portales, New Mexico and former resident of ABQ, passed away June 14, 2009. Jimmy was a loving father and grandfather to his surviving daughter, Monica Ingram of Tulsa OK and her children: Chris and Buzzie Fuechsel, and Isaac Baca III. Brother John A. JOHNSON -- John "Johnny" Andrew Johnson, Jr., a native of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, June 13, 2009. He is survived by his loving parents, John Andrew, Sr. and Marion Anding Johnson; brother, Harold Anding Johnson; cousins, Vernon Pleasant and wife, Sally, Virginia LaCharite and husband, Raymond, Jeannie Chunn and husband, Bob, and Cyrus C. Johnson III and wife, Kathy; best friend, Jim Davis; and a multitude of caregivers, therapists, aides and friends who so lovingly and graciously touched his life and who in turn were blessed to be included on his nightly and lengthy prayer list. He was preceded in death by sister, Janell Johnson; paternal grandparents, Cyrus Cleveland and Mary Pippin Johnson; maternal grandparents, Claude Ellis and Lucille Bell Anding; and aunts and uncles, Dr. Cyrus C. Johnson II and wife, Jean, Claude Ellis Anding Jr. and wife, Virginia, Harold Bell Anding, Janie Anding Pleasant and husband, Sessions, Nell Anding Pickett and husband, Haley Aubrey. He enjoyed many years of being a part of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Johnny so much appreciated his adult day care center, Share Your Care, and looked forward to attending X-Factor Church. A victor over cerebral palsy, he was able to walk with the aid of braces and crutches until confined after a stroke to a wheelchair at the age of twelve, but walks and even soars today on the streets of gold in his Heavenly Father's house. Having savored gospel music in this world, today he delights at the heavenly chorus. LOPEZ -- Ninfa (Jimenez) Lopez, a longtime resident of Las Cruces, NM passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Antonio (J.A. Tony) Lopez; and siblings, Ruth Jimenez, William Jimenez, David Jimenez and Tony Jimenez. Ninfa is survived by her daughter, Beverly Lopez and husband, Joseph Buday; granddaughters, Areth and Callan Buday; her siblings, Ernest Jimenez and his wife, Theva of La Junta, CO, Josephine Stassinos of Albuquerque, Eli Jimenez of Oregon City, OR, Elizabeth Romero of Santa Fe, NM, and Charles Jimenez and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was born on March 28, 1919 in Palomas, NM. She married Tony Lopez of Holbrook, AZ on June 10, 1944. After World War II she and Tony moved to Las Cruces, NM to start a new life together. Ninfa worked as a bilingual teacher with the Las Cruces Public Schools and also with an experimental bilingual program for children at NMSU. She enjoyed a good game of canasta with her friends and loved gardening around her house. She will be remembered for her strong spirit and wonderful cooking. Ninfa was very much loved and will be sorely missed by all. MOLINA -- Nascencenio Ignacio "Jr." Molina, Jr., 74, the last of a generation of Molinas, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 13, 2009 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Molina was born on September 9, 1934 to Nascencenio and Adela (Aragon) of Belen, NM. He graduated from Belen High School in 1954. He married his loving wife, Delores M. Gonzales, on February 22, 1957 at El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church when it was located at Sixth and Gold SW. Together they raised their three sons. He retired from the City of Albuquerque after 25 years of service as a bus driver in the Transit Division. Mr. Molina loved his job! After retiring, he enjoyed golfing with La Perrada Golf Club and the Los Altos Golf Association, traveling, and just enjoying life. He was a member of American Legion Post 13 and the Moose Lodge 1517. Mr. Molina will be remembered for his love of life and his great sense of humor. Above all, he loved taking care of his wife, Delores, his family, and especially enjoying his grandchildren. Mr. Molina is preceded in death by his siblings, Nick Molina, Lawrence Molina, Eloy Molina, Reuben Molina and Ninfa Aragon. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Delores M. Molina; his sons, Michael A. Molina, and his wife, Shirley, Mark S. Molina, and his wife, Julie, and Marty D. MORENO -- Beverly Jean Moreno, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, died Monday, June 15, 2009 after battling Myelofibrosis for six years. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Secundino Moreno, Jr.; two children, Steven Moreno and wife, Mollie of Santa Fe, NM and Kristina Listy and husband, Albert of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Troy Moreno, Aidan Moreno, and Lylah Moreno; and soon to be "Baby Boy Listy"; and many other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Arne and mother, Elna Jacobson; and two sisters, Evelyn Hines and Lois Winland. Beverly was born on July 24, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Arne and Elna Jacobson and graduated from High School in Detroit. She attended Concordia Lutheran College in Chicago, IL where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Education and her Master's Degree in Library Science. Beverly moved to Albuquerque to work at Immanuel Lutheran School as a teacher. She returned to Michigan and later returned to Albuquerque to work at Kirtland AFB. While raising her family, Beverly worked for Albuquerque Public Schools as a librarian. She later worked at TVI and UNM Parish Library. Beverly retired from UNM in 1995 as a professor of Library Science. She was a member of Sandia Sewing Club for 40 years, where she loved spending hours doing Swedish weaving, spending time with the "girls" and many trips. Her greatest love was her grandchildren which she called "her best medicine". Beverly was very active in Redeemer Lutheran and Holy Cross Lutheran Churches. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She touched everyone whom she met, once you were a friend of Beverly's, she considered you a member of her family. NUANES -- Emily C. Nuanes, 88, passed away on June 13, 2009, after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; and her parents, Emilio and Petra Martinez. Born in Winslow, Arizona, Emily grew up in North Albuquerque and later moved to Los Angeles where she and Leo lived for over 30 years before returning to New Mexico. Emily is survived by her sister, Vicentita Cheek, sister Annabelle Lunn and husband, Frank, and sister Ida Palmer and husband, Ed. Although she and Leo were not blessed with children of their own, they were a loving uncle and aunt to several generations of their nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Daniels Family Funeral Service, 9420 Fourth Street NW. STEWART -- Brent Allen Stewart, 49, of Jacksonville passed away June 13, 2009. He was born September 28, 1959 in Tribune, KS to Jerry Stewart and Paula Myers. Brent proudly served his country in the Marines and was a Christian. After his service in the Marines, he lived in Mew Mexico, Alaska and Arkansas. Brent enjoyed, more than anything, spending time with his family. He was a loving gentle man, always willing to help in anyway. As a youngster in school he was known for giving away his shoes or his coat to a boy who didn't have any. Among his many talents, his wood-working skills were enjoyed by many family and friends. His favorite pastimes were fishing in Alaska, elk hunting in New Mexico and camping and fishing with his wife Pricilla. His family said "He will be greatly missed and held n out hearts with great love and affection. Survivors include his wife, Amalia Priscilla Stewart of Jacksonville, children, Annette, Aileen and husband Francis, and Alwin, father, Jerry Stewart and wife Evelyn of Los Lunas, NM, mother, Paula Davis and husband Scott of Cooper Landing, AK, brothers, Breck Stewart and wife Cindy of Belen, NM, Blake Stewart and wife Kathy of Anchorage, AK, Nicole Stewart of Los Lunas, NM and Renee Sandoval of Albuquerque, NM, granddaughter, Franchesca, nephews, Tyler Stewart, Kevin Kundracik, nieces, Angie Kundracik, Samantha Varela and Candice Flores, great-nephews, Tanner, Gavin and Caden. STRAUCH -- Rosemary Anne Strauch, 76, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Katy Texas. TREADWELL -- Jack R. Treadwell, 81, passed on June 13, 2009. Jack is survived by his wife of 52 years Carolyn; son Rick Treadwell and wife Debbie, daughter Marcia Treadwell; grandson Derek and wife Lucilla; brother Tom Treadwell and wife Gwen; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Loula Maude. Jack was an active member of First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, was a member of the Two Som Sunday School Class, and the Emmaus Community. He worked for The Nabisco Corporation as an Operations Manager before retiring after 40 years. He participated in the Nabisco Retirees Reunion Group and served our country in the US Army. VALDEZ -- Prescilla E. Valdez, age 74, with her husband by her side, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2009. Prescilla was born May 19, 1935 in Cuba, NM. Prescilla was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved her music and loved to sing, whether she was sitting in the kitchen, or in the car. She was always smiling and she was very caring. She will be missed by her family and friends. Although she has gone to be with our Lord, we will always love her very much. Prescilla was preceded in death by her mother, Josefita Montoya; her brother Florence Montoya; and her grandson Luciano Valdez, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rosenaldo "Ross" Valdez of La Jara; son Luciano Valdez and wife Patricia of Rio Rancho; daughter Josie Valdez of Las Vegas, NV; and one step-daughter, Viola Maestas of La Jara; brothers Bences Montoya and wife Bernice of Kerns, UT, Seferino "Sefe" Montoya and wife Connie of Bernalillo, Rufina Lovato of Cuba, NM, and Gavina Sanchez of Aztec, NM; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends. ZIMMERMAN -- Margie L. Zimmerman, a Socorro, NM resident since 1956, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009. Margie was born on April 5, 1936 in West Monroe, LA to Irby and Ruby (Gilbert) Jackson. She is survived by her son, Ray and wife, Cathy; grandson, David and wife, Melissa; and great-grandson, Joel; sister, Mary Wood and husband, Bob; nieces Rita Savanna and Sherri Bullard; nephews, Mike Wood and wife, Terri; Gary Wood; Eddie Murphy and wife, Diane; cousins Jeanette Cook; Carolyn Gaumnitz and families.
