HOLGUIN -- Elpidia Holguin, 83, Pia as she was affectionately known, was born in San Antonio, New Mexico on April 12, 1926 to Jose Dolores Carrillo and Emilia Peralta, passed away on the morning of June 10, 2009. Mrs. Holguin is the beloved wife of Mr. Michael Joseph Holguin, married for 56 years; a wonderful mother to her six children, Peg A. Holguin, Therese A. Thomas, Michael J. Holguin Jr., Albert A. Holguin, D. Michelle Duran and Paul M. Holguin; by her three big sisters, whom she dearly loved, Angelina, Lola and Susie; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren who adored her and who will all miss her dearly. Mrs. Holguin was warm, witty and a fun loving person; she was as beautiful as she was smart and was passionate about life. Visitation will be Friday, June 12, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. by Lena Orozco. Final visitation will be Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Father Joel Garner, presider. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be Taylor Thomas, Michael Holguin III, Gene Gallegos, Louis Duran, Albert Holguin and Paul Holguin.
