AVALOS -- Sherise C. Avalos began a new journey on June 6, 2009. Sherise fought long and hard for her life and bore the weight of her illness with courage and a strong determination to fight "the good fight". Through it all, she kept her faith in God and her "positive" outlook on life. She is survived by her long time soulmate, love and unconditional friend "Bob" of Bob and Sherise; she also leaves behind beloved family members; sisters Gina and Saadia; nephews, Joshua, Garrett, and Edward; Auntie Peach and Uncle Mike; cousins Steffie and Nessie; her dear friend Jeanette; and her beloved cat "Mr. Boo Boos" and many other friends and family. Sherise was a beautiful, generous, loving and talented spirit who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers the family asks that monetary donations of any amount be made to NM Aids Services, 625 Truman NE, Alb, NM 87110. Services will be at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
