MCCLURE -- John H. McClure, 95, born July 25, 1913 in Apple Grove, Michigan, died Thursday, May 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Cornelia R., his son John A. and wife, Susan of Westminster, California, and a sister Mary A. of Albuquerque as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His daughter Roberta L. is deceased. He was educated in California and Ohio, where he became a member of the Ohio National Guard for 13 years. Mr. McClure made the move to Albuquerque in 1972 from Cleveland, Ohio where he lived and worked for 44 years. He was engaged as a youth in the printing industry where he learned his trade, and later owned his own print shop until eventually switching to sales---sales of large printing equipment covering 14 states in the East and Midwest. In Albuquerque, he continued in sales but eventually changed employer to that of AAA, where he worked until his retirement. His recreational pursuits in Cleveland included fishing and boating in Lake Erie and Lake Chataqua but changed in New Mexico to traveling the countryside with his wife, both enjoying the sights and sounds of the Southwest. The Rosary will be recited at French Mortuary Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to services. A service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7999 Wyoming NE at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. French 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
