VOEGELE -- Robert Clay Voegele, 62, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He bravely fought and lost his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Robert was born July 29, 1946, in Raton, New Mexico, and is the son of Virgil R. and Bruna M. (Yob) Voegele. He married Janice L. (Collins) Voegele on September 5, 1969, in Raton. Shortly afterwards, they relocated to Fort Polk, Louisiana, where he served in the U.S. Army. Upon discharge, Bob worked as an accountant and retired from Chevron Texaco Corporation, in 2002, and moved to Albuquerque to be near their daughter and her family. He was everything to our family with his loving and giving nature. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janice, of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandy L. Varro and husband Joe of Albuquerque; he was the beloved grandfather of Danielle M. and Jake R. Varro; also survived by parents, Virgil and Bruna Voegele; sister, Sylvia Cimino and husband Frank; brother, Bill Voegele all residing in Raton; sister-in-law, Janet Wyscarver of Orlando, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Raton, NM. The family wishes to thank Hospice of NM for their loving kindness and care while providing comfort to Bob during his illness.
