VIGIL -- Remigio "Ray" Vigil, age 87, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born on October 1, 1921 in Truchas, NM. Ray retired from the Santa Fe Rail Road. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served his country during World War II. He enjoyed going to the Casino; he took great pride in his Vegetable garden, especially in the Chile he grew; and was an avid Lady Lobo fan. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gloria Vigil; his children, Remigio "Ray" Vigil and wife Mae, Deborah Martinez and husband Rod, Valerie Whitlock, Ron Vigil and Ted S. Vigil and wife Joann; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his sister Elicia Martinez; and other numerous relatives and friends. Ray will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. A Memorial Service will be conducted Friday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
