SALAZAR -- Donald G. Salazar, age 72 of Albuquerque, NM passed away Friday April 3, 2009 at his home, he was born on June 25, 1936 in Brazos, NM to Praxedes and Benita Salazar. He married Dolores M. Gutierrez on October 28, 1961 she preceded him in death on March 19, 2006 after 44 yrs of marriage. Mr. Salazar was a member of the Risen Savior Catholic Community as well as the D.A.V. and The American Legion. He served in the United States Army. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a barber for over 37 years and owned and operated Sierra Azul Barber Shop with his partner Bill Cocoa. Surviving are his daughter Pauline A. Riley and her husband Roger of Albuquerque, his grandchildren, Serena and Jarrett Riley at home. His sisters, Olivia Esquibel and Millie Gonzales and husband Tony all of Albuquerque. His brothers: Silviano Salazar and his wife Mitzi of Sandy Hills, UT., Joe P. Salazar of Los Lunas, NM., Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Manuel Salazar in December of 2008 and Benny Salazar in February of 2006. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE, 87109, Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The Rosary Service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Friends and relatives may visit with the family starting at 6:00 p.m., at the mortuary.
