WHITT -- Roy L. Whitt passed away on March 13, 2009 in Edgewood, New Mexico. He was 83 years old. He was born in Red Oak, OK on September 4, 1925 to Arizona and Johnie Whitt of Roswell, New Mexico. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vernie and Harvey; and two sisters, Imageen and Willie Frances; and one son, Robert Roy. Roy married June Heise on April 24, 1949 and remained together until her passing in 2007. Roy is survived by his daughter, Janice Whitt-Cherner and husband Elliot of Chandler, AZ; two grandsons, Tim McCants and wife Cecelia of Edgewood, NM and Michael R. McCants and wife Rosa of Mesa, AZ. Roy had 11 great-grandchildren, Brittany and husband Daniel, Dennis, Michael, Derek, Tyler, William, Nicholas, Dillon, Ashley and Nathan; and one great-great grandson Rylee Joel. Roy had three sisters, Dorothy Cooley of Roswell, NM, Lucille Havens of Roswell, NM and Hazel Lee of Binger, OK. Roy leaves behind many nieces and nephews too many to mention by name.
