ANDREWS -- John Patrick Andrews of Moab, UT loving father and husband, passed away on March 11, 2009. John was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 7, 1960 to Bob and Mary Alice Andrews. He graduated from high school in Dayton, moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he obtained his Electrical Engineering degree from the University of New Mexico. After being employed by Sperry Flight Systems, John relocated to Salt Lake City and founded a national computer software company with his partner Jim Collar. They relocated the business and their families to Moab in 1996. From the beginning, Footprints was a community fixture. Footprints motto was "we encourage literacy however possible." He felt that it was important to employ local kids to give them experience in atypical jobs. John was quietly and unassumingly generous. Many people in Moab know this first-hand. When you couldn't find John, you knew he was out in the desert on a hike. The desert was his solace. He loved being with his friends and family, rebuilding and maintaining his MG. John is survived by his wife Marie; a son Patrick; a daughter Jamie, his parents Bob and Mary Alice; nine brothers and sisters, mother-in-law Kathryn Zinn, and numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., at the Old City Park in Moab. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Grand County Mentoring Program in his behalf. This is one of the many educational programs John supported in Moab. Condolences can be made to the family at www.SpanishValleyMortuary.com

LLOYD -- Margaret Lloyd, 93, went home to the arms of her Lord, March 9, 2009. She will be lovingly re-united with her husband, Paul, her son, Paul (Randy), her brothers Frank, Randolph and Jay, her sister Mary as well as all the many "saints" of her extended family of origin. Margaret was a pioneering woman for her day. She left her birth town of Salisbury, PA, to obtain a college degree and briefly taught school before moving to Washington, DC, where she attended George Washington University. Margaret then worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation and helped develop reconnaissance maps for the allies prior to the US involvement in WWII. Ironically, Margaret married her husband Paul, a German non-citizen, on the morning Pearl Harbor was unexpectedly bombed. The US government put Paul in an internment camp until he could be "cleared" of any Nazi affiliation, but then prohibited the couple from living in Washington DC, and they eventually ended up in Ohio, where Margaret took a non-government position with Goodyear Aircraft. She was recruited and re-located to Albuquerque from Ohio by Sandia National Labs in the 1950's, where she was the only female in her capacity working on top secret missile projects. Margaret spent her retirement years living a quiet and reverent life. She visited Washington DC many times to visit her daughter, Mary, who was doing International Development work for the State Department. After Mary's retirement, Margaret lived with her in California on and off for many years. Mary returned to Albuquerque several years ago to help fulfill Margaret's wish to live at home until the end, which she did. This could not have been possible without the help of Presbyterian Hospice, for which there is much gratitude. Margaret is survived by her daughter Mary; and her out of state nephews Frank, Bill and Wayne Reitz; and niece Barbara Harris. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, where Margaret spent many years in service, worship and community, 1750 Faith Court NE (located at the SE corner of Indian School and Chelwood Park), Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Please visit our online guestbook for Margaret at RememberTheirStory.com French 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE (505) 275-3500

MARTINEZ -- Patrick. Perhaps you brought or served food. Perhaps you sent a lovely card, made a donation or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words as any friends could say; perhaps you were not there at all, just thought or prayed for us that day. Whatever part the Lord had you play to console our hearts, we thank you so much and may He bless each one of you, the family of Patrick Martinez.

MOSELEY -- Ada Vivian Moseley went home to be with her Lord and Savior and "my Don" on Thursday, March 12, 2009. She was the oldest child born to Elson Willie Moseley and Mattie Bell Meek and the grand-daughter of pioneers who braved the frontier traveling to New Mexico in a covered wagon in the early 20th century. Ada was raised in Stanley, NM and graduated from high school Valedictorian of her senior class. In 1941, she married the love of her life, Don B. Moseley. Ada, and her beloved Don were farmers raising beans in Stanley until the mid 1940's when they moved to Belen, and then to Albuquerque. Ada and Don are the parents of two children, Vivian Barbara Godby and Don Dwayne Moseley. She worked 18 years in the insurance industry and 12 years for the Social Security Administration until her retirement in the mid 1980's. After her beloved Don's death in 1990, Ada lived successfully and robustly in her own home until February 19, 2009 when she was injured in a fall and became gravely ill. Outside of the work place, home, family, friends and church were first in her life focus. Her love for her family and friends was reflected in the gift of hospitality and her generous spirit. Cooking and entertaining were two among her many notable talents. Family will always remember the enveloping loving spirit of her last prepared banquet before falling gravely ill. She lived her life in such a way that elicited love from everyone who has had the privilege of sharing in her life and has been a role model and inspiration to friends and family. She had a work ethic and moral standard that is a true expression of Christian Love, both admirable and exemplary. Ada shared her loving spirit beyond her family with her too numerous to count friends and acquaintances. On many occasions she would leave a holiday family gathering to take a plate of food and gift to a shut-in friend or acquaintance. Ada had an unwavering faith in her God and was a member of New Life City Church. Relationships and worship in her church were the core of Ada's life experience along with her family and friends. Friendships made over the years through church participation and acts of kindness are too numerous to even name. She always looked forward with anticipation to fellowship gatherings and activities with the beloved from church. The loving spirit of watchfulness and help given by the New Life City Church membership to Mom is recognized and appreciated. Ada leaves behind her children, Dwayne Moseley and spouse, Barry Simon, Vivian Godby and husband, Russell; grandchildren, Michelle and Doug Smith, Sandra and Sean Lyon, Elyssa Moseley and partner, Myra Ackerman, Daphne and Jim Lardner, Carlos and Angela Godby, Myles and Laura Godby; and ten great-grandchildren. Her absence is felt by all whose lives she touched. Ada's great-grandchildren have given the most accurate description in their name for her: not great grandma, but Grandma Great. We rejoice in the release of Ada from the joy and pain of this material world, and we grieve the loss of her loving presence. We look forward to the day when we can fully comprehend that her loving spirit lives in our hearts and lives. Our sincere thanks go to those who tenderly and lovingly cared for her during these weeks of illness. We especially thank VistaCare Hospice staff for the care and support during this very difficult time. Contributions may be made in her name to New Life City Church, 4830 Pan American Freeway, Albuquerque, NM 87109, VistaCare Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
