LOER -- Betty J. Loer, age 88, of Albuquerque, NM, died February 20, 2009. She was born in Maumee, OH, September 2, 1920, the eldest daughter of Roland H. Snider and Minnie (Price) Snider (dec. 1924). After the age of 9, she moved to Dayton with her father and second mother, Freda (Mealy) Snider. She married Jack E. Loer, November 18, 1939, raised a family in Dayton and Fairborn, OH, where she was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and Fairborn Methodist Church. An active member of the Fairborn and Dayton Communities, she was a volunteer for the schools, boy and girl scouts, church, and vocal organizations. She participated in the family business, "Betty Jane Candies", known as Loer Food Products. She was also employed as a clerk at the Green County Courthouse. She relocated to Albuquerque in 1980, continuing her involvement as a caretaker with her family, friends, the community, and St. Andrew Presbyterian. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Bethany & Jim Dillow, of Albuquerque, NM, Michele & Bernard Farwell, of Wheaton, IL, Debra & Richard Bishop, of New Carlisle, OH, one son, Jack Loer of Albuquerque, NM, daughter-in-law, Rebecca Loer, of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Donna Null & husband, Jerry Null; brother, Gary Snider & wife Susan Snider, sisters-in-law Shirley Snider and Jean Snider; also, an extended family daughter, Diana Hauver of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, & many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Roland Snider and Norman Snider; her first husband, Jack Loer; and her life partner, Edwin Majors. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa NE Albuquerque, NM 87110. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Betty Loer Memorial Fund of St. Andrew Presbyterian (at the above address) or to the charity of your choice.
