DODSON -- Shelton "Jimmy" Dodson, 80, went home to be with the Lord, March 11, 2009 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Helen "Betty", who he was devoted to. They made a team through their 35 years of marriage. Jimmy is also survived by daughters, Wendy DeSmet and husband Huck, Sue Wilkinson and husband Roger; sons, Jim Duncan and wife Priscilla, Tom Duncan and partner Kristi Yarrow. Grandchildren Dennis, Michael and wife Erica, Brandon, Jennifer and husband Tom, Adam and wife Melissa, Christopher, Patrick and Lindsay, Rachel, Lucas, Timothy and Miriam, Robert and wife Leslie, Melissa and husband Bryan and daughter-in-law Helen Duncan. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Franklin and wife Macy and sister Jean Jones and husband Buck; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary GoLightly; and daughter, Patricia Duncan-Hebert. Jimmy was a successful contractor, real estate broker and entrepreneur. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, reading western novels and watching sports on the television. He was a Godly man who prayed and read his Bible daily. Jimmy's great love was spending time with his special friends from the same organization of which he was a part of for 50 years. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009, 11:00 a.m., French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
