MAHLER -- Annelise Mahler, born May 2, 1920 passed away on February 21, 2009 after a brief illness. Ms. Mahler was born in Berend, a small village near Schleswig in northern Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 and became a U. S. citizen in 1958. She resided in southern California for many years and moved to Albuquerque in the late 1990s. For the last 2 years, she lived at Princeton Place Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Renate Mahler, who passed away in 2003. She is survived by her cousin, Frauke Holtorf of Flensburg, Germany; and her close friends in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM, Mark Parshall, Diane Lujan, and Mary Lou Sorenson. A Burial Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd, NE, Albuquerque 87107. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Princeton Place Nursing Center, 500 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 or Hospice de la Luz, 3812 N. Academy Parkway, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
