HAGGARD -- Phyllis J. Haggard died peacefully January 18, 2009 in San Diego after a long courageous battle with lymphoma. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John; sons, Stephan, in San Diego, and Joel living in Hong Kong, their families; and four grandchildren, Kit (16), Max (12), Jessica (15) and Sammie (10). Phyllis had a long and fruitful life. Born in Dayton, Ohio she become an X-ray technician, then moved to New York where she worked and where she and John were married. They moved to San Francisco in 1952 and lived in the Bay Area until 1988, when they retired to Albuquerque, NM. She and John moved to San Diego in November 2008. During John and Phyllis' working career in San Francisco, they moved and lived in Waukeegan, IL; Lander, WY; Saudi Arabia; and Australia twice. Everywhere she went she made friends. She was warm, caring and outgoing. A private Memorial gathering is planned.
