CHAVEZ -- Helen Chavez, 63, a resident of Albuquerque and Torreon, went home to the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2009 while surrounded by her family. Helen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Pablo Chavez; her children Andrew Chavez and wife Lynnelle, Polly Gutierrez and husband Martin, Monica Chavez and Dave Brawn, and Ramona Chavez; grandchildren Antonio and Ariana Gutierrez, Marco Gaona and Aurelleia Chavez; her mother Ramona Salas; siblings Miguel Salas, Pete Salas, Loren Sanchez, Andrea Garza and Patsy Lueras; numerous in-laws that she considered as brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Delfinio Salas; and special grandparents David and Rosita Chavez. Visitation will begin Sunday, January 25, 2009, 5:00 p.m. at Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road, NE. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, January 26, 2009, 9:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Bernadette with Fr. Vincent Chavez presiding. Interment will follow at Torreon Cemetery, Torreon, NM. Pallbearers will be Antonio and Martin Gutierrez, Dave Brawn, Morris Chavez, Valentin Garza and Abran Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ariana Gutierrez, Marco Gaona and Aurelleia Chavez.
