PURR -- Elizabeth M. Purr, 76 of Hamilton passed away December 12, 2008 after a series of unfortunate illnesses. This truly unique woman was a big sports fan and especially enjoyed watching hockey, football and NASCAR. She loved difficult crossword puzzles and was fascinated with the study of UFOs. Betty was born in Ogdensburg NY on June 26, 1932, and has resided in Hamilton for almost 50 years. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with the State of New Jersey Dept. of Health and was a member of the St. Raphael's Church. Preceded in death by her parents Francis S. and Mary E. Murray Measaw, her husband Adam Purr Jr, and son Dr. Ron Purr, Betty is survived by her daughter Kathy Purr Newlon and son-in-law Evan Newlon of Albuquerque N.M., her daughter-in-law Teri Purr of Columbus OH, a sister and brother-in-law Pat and Bruce Barr of Bradenton FL and several nieces and nephews. Betty will be especially missed by her special friends Glenn Maslowski and Jean Fell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. from the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home 260 White Horse Ave. in Hamilton. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Raphael Church 3500 S. Broad St. in Hamilton. Cremation services will follow at the Ewing Crematory, and burial will be held Wednesday in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and wake services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Mercer County Wildlife Center, Rt. 29 P.O. Box 161 Titusville NJ 08560 in memory of Betty Purr. Mom, our hearts are breaking at the thought of not sharing your company, but are rejoicing in the belief that you are home and reunited with Dad and Ronnie. We love you so very much.
