PONDER -- Glenda Cremer Ponder, a resident of New Mexico since 1960, passed away on September 17, 2008. She was born April 19, 1937 in Hobart, OK to Ed and Grace Hood, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Thomas B. Ponder; daughter, Debbie and husband, Ken Maier; daughter, Mary and husband, Keith Yarbrough; son, David and wife Sande Cremer; and sister, Louise Henderson. Additional survivors are Tom's children, Brad and Jo Ponder, and David and Amy Fralix. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, Jeff, Jessika and husband Patrick, Holly, Russell, Tyler, Marissa, Mitchell, Kailee, Jamie, Camee, Katelin, Hannah, and Ryanne. She was preceded in death by grandson, Kevin Maier. Glenda grew up on a farm in southwestern Oklahoma. She graduated from Sentinel High School and attended Cameron College, the University of Oklahoma, and the College of Santa Fe. She married Charles Cremer in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1974. She moved to Los Alamos, NM, in 1960 with her young family. Glenda was employed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1974 to 1984. She married Thomas Ponder in 1982. They lived in Albuquerque, Roswell, Valencia County, and Rio Rancho. Glenda continued her career as a technical writer/editor employed at Holmes and Narver, Essex Corporation, and Geo-Centers until retirement in 1995. Glenda loved gatherings with family and friends. She enjoyed writing, gardening, quilting, scrapbooking, dancing, singing, old movies, cooking, operas, and hot air balloons, not necessarily in any particular order. Glenda also enjoyed worshiping at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, where she was a member since 2006. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. Internment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will occur at a later date. Glenda absolutely loved flowers and in her words, "I have enjoyed enough of them in life." As such, she requested that friends and family make a donation to a charity of their choosing in lieu of flowers.
