BRENNAN -- Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Brennan passed away at home on September 15, 2008, surrounded by her devoted husband and loving children. Peggy was born in Albuquerque on August 8, 1923, to Joseph and Laurene McCanna, a pioneer Albuquerque family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wilfred J. Brennan; children John and wife Sarah, Barbie and husband Anthony McMahon, Alice Myers and husband John, Fred and wife Shawn, Tim and wife Laurie, Jane, and Maureen; brother Peter F. McCanna, sister Janet King and husband Vernon, and sisters-in-law Helen McCanna, Rosemary Glennon and Barbara Brennan; grandchildren Aubrey and Christopher Brennan, Scott Ashcraft and wife Merissa, Amy and husband Rhett Waterman, Matthew Myers and wife Katie Curry, Lucas and Katie Myers, Collin, Ryan and Kaelan Brennan, Amber, Alysse and Tim Brennan, Dave, Jennifer, Eric and Brennan Doyle; and six great-grandchildren--five generations of Albuquerqueans. Peggy graduated from St. Vincent Academy and the University of New Mexico with a degree in music. She was in Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Peggy was an avid bridge player with her dear friends of Casa Angelica and St. Joseph's Auxiliaries. She was also a past president of Casa Angelica Auxiliary. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Copper and 6th Streets NW) on Friday, September 19, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, and the pallbearers will be her ten grandsons. BROWN -- Sis. Willie Mae "Patsy" Brown, age 67, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Daughter and Sister, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 11, 2008, while surrounded by her loving family. Patsy was a long-time resident of Albuquerque. She was the proud wife of Pastor William M. Brown and 1st Lady of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Patsy enjoyed praising the Lord and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Mae Smith, her sister, Laverne Minnifield, her Grandmother Geneva Harper, and her son William Merrill Brown, Jr. Patsy is survived by her loving husband, Rev. William M. Brown, aunt, Georgia Mae Green, her children, Landree Wauford, Shawn Wauford, Kymberli Grady and Kevin Brown; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. CARRELL -- Nancy Carrell (Louise), 98, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, September 15, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kinane of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kimberly Braithwaite of Albuquerque and Ryan Kinane of Lubbock, TX; sister, Georgia Kelly of Roswell; other relatives; close friends; and her beloved turtles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Carrell; her parents; and two brothers. Louise attended the University of New Mexico in the 1930s; she was active in Daughters of the Nile, Masonic Widows Club, and she was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She will be remembered by all for the stories she loved to tell and her gracious heart. CRIPPEN -- Mary Crippen, 82, passed away on September 16, 2008. Mary was born November 8, 1925 to Catherine and Michael Sweeney in Boston, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Crippen for 60 years. Mary was a fiercely devoted mother and book Keeper. She was a member of Legion of Mary for many years. Mary is survived by her four daughters, Kathleen Carlson and her husband David, Geraldine Crippen, Christine Crippen, and Amy Smith and her husband Tom; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. HATTOX -- Jerry Hattox, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, died Saturday, September 13, 2008 unexpectedly. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wilma Hattox; two daughters, Keri Ann Small and husband Gary of The Woodlands, TX and Linda Lee Toppert and husband Bob of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Roy and Jenny Small and Cody and Chad Toppert; sister, Irene Childres of Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Jerry was born on December 4, 1924 in Fitzhugh, OK to William and Myrtle McLachlan Hattox. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Jerry married Wilma Long on October 12, 1946. He and his Western Building Supply Company, have been "fixtures" in the Albuquerque and New Mexico home building industries for over 30 years. Jerry's quick smile, ready handshake, and his cowboy hat graced many thousands of construction industry gatherings over the years. Usually with his wife Wilma at his side, Jerry was always eager to talk about windows and doors and the Lobos. Jerry was a member of New Mexico Home Builders Association since 1971, has been on the New Mexico HBA Board of Directors for the past 30 years, and was active with the local and national "home builders" groups since the 1950s. In 1974, New Mexico HBA awarded Associate of the Year to Jerry, an award presented each year to a non-builder supporting member for outstanding service to his association and to the home building industry. Jerry became the first New Mexico HBA Associate Vice President when that position was created in 1990 and served in that position until 1994. In honor of Jerry, the name of the Associate of the Year Award was changed in 1997 to the Jerry Hattox Distinguished Service Award and remains that to this day. He was a member of the Lobo Club, Shriners, the Albuquerque Tips Club, the Republican Party and a NRA Life member. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd. LEVINE -- Allan Lewis Levine, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1998, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Mr. Levine was born in Lowell, MA, son of William and Bessie Levine. He is survived by his children, Erica Levine Powers of Newburgh, NY and John B. Levine, M.D., of Cambridge, MA; grandson, Llewellyn A. Powers of Oakland, CA; brother, Morey Levine of Lexington, MA; cousin, Joan B. Pinck of Cambridge, MA; the children of Carol N. Kinney, Tom Roberts and wife, Leah Albers, Margaret Roberts, M.D., Shelley Roberts and husband, Duane Moore, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Levine was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl S. Levine and by Carol N. Kinney. He attended Lowell Public Schools and graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover. Mr. Levine received his A. B. Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College prior to being commissioned in the U. S. Navy. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, in the Pacific Theatre, participating in the invasions of the Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, Hollandia, Saipan, Guam, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. After the war, Mr. Levine entered the family business, Towers Motor Parts Corporation, in Lowell, MA. He retired in 1998. Mr. Levine was active in many Civic Organizations to include the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, United Fund for Greater Lowell, Greater Lowell Council of Social Agencies, Harvard Club of Lowell, Harvard Club of Boston, Harvard Alumni Association, Vesper Country Club and the Automotive Service Industry Association. He also served on the Boards of Merrimack River Savings Bank, which merged into Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank and Saint John's Medical Center. In Albuquerque, Mr. Levine served as treasurer of the Bernalillo County Democratic Party and as a board member of the Albuquerque Committee of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Levine was a member of Temple Beth El, in Lowell, MA from 1945 to 2005 where he served as a Trustee, Assistant Treasurer, President, and Chairman of various committees. He also served as Board Member and Chairman of the Cemetery Committee for Congregation Albert in Albuquerque. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 19, 2008 at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. N.E. at 11:00 with Rabbi Joseph R. Black and Cantor Barbara R. Finn officiating. MAHARG -- Helen Louise Maharg, 88, went on her last journey home to meet her Lord Jesus Christ, on Wednesday September 17, 2008. She passed away in the loving care of her family at home; She was born July 24, 1920 in Lima, Ohio to Harry A. Martin and Louisa Jane Holley. She is preceded by her parents; sisters Alice Marie and Janet; and brothers James and Harry Jr. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by son Dean Maharg and wife Ethel, and daughter Earlene Wolfe and husband Dale Raup; grandchildren, Troy, Dena, Augusta Maharg and her fiance Lee West, Jason Wolfe and his fiancee Leah Knipprath; and great- granddaughter Nyssa Maharg; niece, Holly Morris and her sons Conrad and Spencer Morris; as well as several other nieces and nephews. She seized every travel opportunity that came her way, including three trips to the Holy Land. Helen's greatest accomplishments were her life as a mother, a career as a Registered Nurse and her never ending faith and love of Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. MYERS -- Kenneth L. Myers November 18, 1953 to September 16, 2008 Kenny L. Myers, age 54, was born in Mechanicsburg, PA on November 18, 1953 and passed away on September 16, 2008. He was raised and lived in the North Valley, and was known for his jolly and giving personality, boyish charm, and warm smile; and the ability to build a race motor. Kenny left a legacy of living and loving life to the fullest. He was adored by family and friends and respected and admired by racers. Kenny was involved in the racing community since childhood. He was affiliated with many racing teams in the Albuquerque area and had recently served as the Race Director for Sandia Motor Speedway. A special memorial race in Kenny's honor will be held at the Sandia Motor Speedway, to be announced at a later date. His first passion was his family which includes his wife Jeanette of 31 years who he loved and cherished; father Richard of Shiremanstown, PA; his mother Catherine (who predeceased Kenny); son Adam and wife Delilah, son Robert; daughter Stephanie and David; brother Glen and wife Amee; sisters Cathy Ellis and Tami Foshee and husband Pat. Eight grandchildren include Mariah, Adam, Angel, Ariel, Samantha, Emma, Mazen, and Jayden. Kenny will be missed by his family, friends and many motors. His favorite sayings were "If You Are Not Going Fast You're Not Going" or "Let's Go Racing". PONDER -- Glenda Cremer Ponder, a resident of New Mexico since 1960, passed away on September 17, 2008. She was born April 19, 1937 in Hobart, OK to Ed and Grace Hood, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Thomas B. Ponder; daughter, Debbie and husband, Ken Maier; daughter, Mary and husband, Keith Yarbrough; son, David and wife Sande Cremer; and sister, Louise Henderson. Additional survivors are Tom's children, Brad and Jo Ponder, and David and Amy Fralix. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, Jeff, Jessika and husband Patrick, Holly, Russell, Tyler, Marissa, Mitchell, Kailee, Jamie, Camee, Katelin, Hannah, and Ryanne. She was preceded in death by grandson, Kevin Maier. Glenda grew up on a farm in southwestern Oklahoma. She graduated from Sentinel High School and attended Cameron College, the University of Oklahoma, and the College of Santa Fe. She married Charles Cremer in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1974. She moved to Los Alamos, NM, in 1960 with her young family. Glenda was employed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1974 to 1984. She married Thomas Ponder in 1982. They lived in Albuquerque, Roswell, Valencia County, and Rio Rancho. Glenda continued her career as a technical writer/editor employed at Holmes and Narver, Essex Corporation, and Geo-Centers until retirement in 1995. Glenda loved gatherings with family and friends. She enjoyed writing, gardening, quilting, scrapbooking, dancing, singing, old movies, cooking, operas, and hot air balloons, not necessarily in any particular order. Glenda also enjoyed worshiping at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, where she was a member since 2006. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. Internment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will occur at a later date. Glenda absolutely loved flowers and in her words, "I have enjoyed enough of them in life." As such, she requested that friends and family make a donation to a charity of their choosing in lieu of flowers.

SMITH -- Laura M. Smith, age 89 of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born March 18, 1919 in Texarkana, TX to Luke P. and Anna J. Brandon. She married James F. Smith on May 25, 1939 in Mercedes, TX. Mrs. Smith along with her husband were founding member of Los Altos Christian Church in Albuquerque 49 years ago. A former member of the Northeast Optimist Club, she also was Life Master Bridge Player of the Duke City Bridge Club for over 34 years. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James, of Albuquerque; her daughter, Suzanne Eisold of Annandale, VA; her son, Chuck Smith and his wife, Jane of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Dean Eisold and his wife, Leila, Doug Eisold, Megan Smith and Emily Smith; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joey Eisold. STONE -- Charles Raymond Stone, 72, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008. Charly was born in Texas to Clifford and Ada Stone. They soon moved to Oklahoma where they raised a large family. He joined the Air Force in 1954 and served for ten years. Since then, he made Albuquerque his home. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Davis; brother, Bill Stone; daughter, Jemmie; and a grandson. The last several years, Charly was partners in life with Linda A. Lee. He spent his civilian life as a big truck mechanic. He will be missed by all whoe knew and loved him. There will be a Memorial Service held at Monterey Baptish Church, 12501 Lomas NE at 4:00 p.m., on Monday, September, 22, 2008.

TIBLIER -- Rev. Edgar Tiblier, S.J., departed this life in the early morning of September 17, 2008, at Our Lady of Wisdom Health Center in New Orleans. A native of New Orleans, Father Tiblier was born on September 11, 1925, and attended Holy Name of Jesus School and Jesuit High School before entering the Society of Jesus [the Jesuits] in Grand Coteau, LA, on August 14, 1943. After professing his first vows, Father Tiblier studied at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, and St. Mary's College in Kansas before being ordained a Roman Catholic priest on June 13, 1956, at St. Joseph Chapel on Spring Hill's campus. While Father Tiblier served in the educational ministry of the Jesuits in Dallas, New Orleans, and Tampa, most of his life as a priest was given to parish work. He ministered at parishes in Albuquerque, NM; San Antonio, TX; Shreveport, LA; Mobile, AL; Corpus Christi, TX; Lafayette, LA; Baton Rouge, LA; and New Orleans, LA. Moreover, from 1970-1981, Father Tiblier was among the New Orleans Province Jesuits serving the Church in Brazil. Father Tiblier is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Louis Tiblier and Aline Bozonier Tiblier, as well as by his brothers, Sidney, Fernand, and Thomas, and his sister, Mrs. Sarita Staehle. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Marie Hoffman, and by many nieces and nephews and their children. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6363 St. Charles Ave. in New Orleans. Interment will follow at the Jesuit Cemetery in Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. VAUGHN -- Marie Vaughn, a resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully on September 16, 2008 after a long illness. She was born in South Boston, MA on August 1, 1922. She attended Grammar school at St. Augustine's, and high school at St. Gregory's in Boston, MA. She worked at MIT, and came to Albuquerque to work for Harold "Doc" Edgerton on the Manhattan Project. She continued to work for EG&G in Honolulu, HI, and Las Vegas, NV where she met her husband James Vaughn. She spent most of her married years in Boston before returning to Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Shea; brothers John and Roger Shea; sisters Marguerite Shea, and Kathleen McCarthy. She is survived by sisters, Eileen Glora, and Claire Higgins; son Stephen Vaughn and wife Deborah; Grandchild, Christopher Vaughn; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Kuroda. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on September 19, 2008 at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo del Norte, NE. ZINN -- Edgar Sidney Zinn, born February 15, 1924, in Gardner, NM, passed away peacefully in his home on September 17, 2008. Edgar was a lifetime resident of New Mexico. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Karen; two daughters, Monique and partner Ty Nash; Simone and husband Tappan Mahoney. Two sons, Malcolm L. and wife Dena; Edgar S. Zinn, II. Sister Evelyn Cromwell and family; and brother Gerald B. Marshall, and family. He was a World War II, US Navy veteran. He served seven years on two battle ships, the USS North Hampton and the USS IOWA. He was the pioneer in the baking industry. Founder and owner of Zinn's Bakery, he was a master baker for 54 years, an innovator of fine European pastries and crusty breads. Retired at the age of 80, he was loved by many. His gifts of storytelling, humor, and life wisdom will be greatly missed. As he requested, a Celebration will be held at the family home, on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please call family for information. A Private Family Burial will be held at a later date. As Ed always said, "He was born married and went to work in a bakery. Not too shabby!"
