MONK -- Harvey Lee Monk, 72, went to be with the Lord August 10, 2008. Harvey worked at General Electric and retired after 30 years plus. He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife of over 50 years, Betty Monk; seven children, five daughters, Jennifer Monk, Patricia Wright and husband, William, Della Butler, Janet Hill and husband, Joseph, and Velma Brooks and husband, Marc; two sons, Michael Monk and Mark Monk. From this bond, they ushered in the next generation of cherished grandchildren, DeAndre Wright, Devin Butler, Joey and Jaden C. Hill, Marissa and Felicia Monk, Briana and Autumn Brooks. He also leaves to mourn his two sisters, Eva Crochrell and husband, Andy, and Dorothy Ann Corbin and husband, Willie. Services for Mr. Monk will be held on Friday, August 15, 2008 at God's House Church located at 2335 Wyoming. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Bishop Michael Shelby.
