THOMPSON -- Braxton Scoville passed away in Albuquerque on May 10, 2008. Braxton was born in Los Angeles on June 19, 1917. He attended Exeter and Yale ('39), leaving college to prepare for the coming war. He joined the Army Air Force and served as a flight instructor in Harlingen, Texas and as a bomber pilot in Europe. While in Harlingen in 1943, he met his wife-to-be, Marjorie "Sandy" Sanford. The couple married on August 10 1944. After the war they moved to Houston, Texas, where Braxton worked in real estate. Over the years he bought and sold steel buildings, farm and ranch properties, and mortgage notes. He was an avid hunter and aviator and a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Bonanza Society and the Rotary Club. He and Sandy retired to Albuquerque in 2006. He is survived by their children, Sanford Thompson of Everett, Washington, Linsley Denning of Albuquerque, and Carter Thompson of Irving, Texas, and their grandchildren Arianne, Jay, Charles and Allison.
