MARTINEZ -- Lenore R. (Grams/Nana) Martinez, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2008 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gilbert G. Martinez, Jr. in August of 2000, her grandson, Jeffrey James Wells in January of 1967, and her parents, Acianita and Jose Ynez Romero. She was one of 10 children. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Martinez-Newton and husband, Kent Newton, and Sandy Martinez-Pino; her beloved grandchildren, Gary Alan Wells, Alexis Pino-Gonzalez and husband, Scott and Angela Lenore Pino; great-grandchildren, James Tyler Wells, Dominique Everett, Lexi Gonzalez, Ciara J. Pino and Yarelis Dedos-Pino; two sisters, Cora R. Vigil of Santa Fe, and Frances Baca of Alhambra, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Lenore was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will be remembered as a giving, loving person with a kind soul. A special thank you to Abbie Jaramillo who lovingly and tenderly cared for her. Also, thank you to Dee Jaramillo for assisting in her care. Our deepest gratitude to Zia Hospice, Chaplain Roxroy Reid, and eternal thanks for her special nurse, Angelica, who went above and beyond the call of duty, and for Lenore's aide, Heather. A heartfelt thank you to her special friends Joy Flamger and Servie Vigil for always being there. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 15, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband Gilbert whom she missed dearly. Pallbearers will be Gary Alan Wells, Kent Newton, Scott Gonzalez, Pat Casey, Carlos Gallegos and Sam Mares.
