CHAVEZ -- Margaret "Margie" Chavez was born March 28, 1937. She passed away Monday, May 5, 2008 at the age of 71. Margie was a member of the San Jose Parish. She worked as a Director of El Encanto Day Care Center, where she retired after 25 years of dedicated service. After her retirement, she worked part-time for the United Methodist Church. Margie will be remembered as a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was loved and will be truly missed by her beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vidal "Billy" Chavez; and her mother, Lizzie Mojarro. Margie is survived by her brother, Paul Gurule and wife, Peggy; children, Janet Torres and husband, Gilbert, David Chavez and wife, Mary, Leroy Chavez and wife, Kim, Robert Chavez and wife, Pauline, Berna Bustillos and husband, Chino, Liz Chavez, Analisa and Samantha; seventeen grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 816 Broadway Blvd. SE. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. with the Visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Los Padillas Cemetery off of South Coors. Pallbearers will be her children, Janet, David, Leroy, Robert, Berna. and Liz. Honorary pallbearers will be her brother, Paul Gurule and wife, Peggy, Antionette Sandoval, and Olivia Chavez.
