ESQUBEL -- Willie Esquibel Sr., age 83, passed away April 20, 2008, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Lala Esquibel, of 31 years; daughter, Frances Esquibel and Alfredo; son, Willie Esquibel, Jr. and wife, Monica; step-son, Donald Smith and Theresa; step-daughter, Tina Cordova and husband, Ed; granddaughter, Sidra Cordova; grandsons, Frank Esquibel and wife, Melissa, Tony Gallegos and wife, Tracy, six great-grandchildren from Colorado, one sister, Estella Rangel, also from Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Willie served in the United States Army and loved all kinds of sports. Cremation has taken place, and Memorial Services will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
