VALDEZ -- Emma Valdez was born in Santa Fe, NM on April 27, 1926. She lived her entire life in Santa Fe and went to be with our Lord on April 12, 2008, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Suazo and mother, Antonia Griego; son, Richard Valdez; daughter, Christella Alvarado; brother, Robert Suazo; and sister, Angelina Padilla. She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Juarez and husband, Javier; son, Ernest Cervantes; son, Carlos Cervantes; daughter, Patricia Garcia and husband, Ruben; son, George Cervantes and wife, Elaine; son, Del Lovato; daughter, Angela Garcia and husband, Alberto; son, Henry Lovato; 23 grandchildren: Richard, Joseph, Mario, Brian, Antoinette, Valerie, Jessica, Jacqueline, Ernest Jr., Carla, Antonia, David, Diane, Raquel, Ruby, George Jr., Marcos, Francisco, Del Jr., Felicia, Angelica, Teresa. and Luis; 23 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and lots of loving friends. Emma dedicated her life to all her children and loving family. She had a strong faith in the Catholic Church. She was a generous, giving and very loving person. She had a great sense of humor. She could lift your spirit and always gave great advice. She encouraged people to do good and always help others. Her door was always open to any one who needed shelter or food. She was a great cook and had a green thumb. She will be dearly missed by our family and our community. A Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20, 2008, noon. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 6:00 p.m. Both will be held at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 21, 2008, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Griego, Ernest Cervantes, Jr., Del Lovato, Jr., David Cervantes, Mario Audelo, Luis Garcia, Marcos Cervantes, and Francisco Cervantes.
