SANDERSON -- Luther Eugene Sanderson, 80, surrounded by his family, went home to be with the Lord early on Monday, April 14, 2008. Eugene is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean; children, Robert "Turp" and wife, Julie and Debbie and husband, Jim Arrington; grandchildren, Jim Bob and Stephanie Arrington, Janell and Johnette Sanderson, Brandy Tenorio, Gene and Kimberly Sanderson, Sandra Murry, Kayla Meadows and Jessica Wellington; and great-granddaughters, Alexandra Tenorio, Julisa and Janessa Wellington; and sisters, Francis and husband, Bill Wells and Barbara and husband, Rusty Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Doris Sanderson, his son, Luther Sanderson, Jr., and siste,r Dorothy. Eugene owned Rainbow Gardens Roller Drome and ran thoroughbred race horses for the last 50 years. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2008, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Services will be Thursday, April 17, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE.
