CROW -- Betty Jane Crow passed away peacefully Monday, April 2, 2008, at the Albuquerque Kaseman Hospice following a battle with cancer. She was a loving, caring, and understanding woman who devoted her life for her family and friends. Betty was born October 19, 1923 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to Russell and Emma Lou Constant. Betty attended school in Fletcher and Norman, Oklahoma. Following graduation, she worked in the defense industry for Douglas Aircraft during World War II. Betty married George Crow September 14, 1948 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Betty and George lived in Albuquerque and Gallup, New Mexico where George was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. During the many years she lived in Gallup, Betty worked for Fran's Flower Shop, Dan Dee's supermarket and drove a school bus for thirteen years. George and Betty relocated to Belen in 1981 following George's retirement. Betty enjoyed many activities which included bowling and taking care of her golden retriever, J.R. Her greatest enjoyment was welcoming her children and grandchildren when they came to visit her in Belen. Betty was a member of the St. Phillips Episcopal church and enjoyed attending services on a regular basis. Betty leaves behind two children; Terry Towner and Laura Arnold; and her husband, Charles, of Grants, New Mexico, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; Russel and Emma Lou; her husband, George; and sister, Normal Louise Ward. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at St. Phillips Episcopal church, located 113 La Luna Place in Belen, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian hospice, 8100 Constitution Place, NE 87110. or the charity of your choice.
