BLUESTEIN -- Virginia Lee Morrow- Bluestein, 87, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard C. Bluestein; son, Richard M. Bluestein and wife, Linda of Albuquerque, and Mark M. Bluestein of Crestone, Colorado; daughter, Nancy M. Bluestein-Johnson and husband, Randy of Port Angeles, Washington; grandchildren, Marissa and Blake Bluestein, Gus and Chandra Johnson; and sister, Patsy Cushing and husband Charles of Hinsdale, Illinois. She was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Malcolm and Jane Owensby. Ginny grew up on a ranch outside of Raton, N.M. and spent her first two years of college at UNM. She transferred to Iowa State University for her junior and senior years to finish her degree in the new field of dietetics. After an internship in Seattle, she returned to Albuquerque as the state's first certified dietician working at St. Joseph's hospital. In 1947 she married Dick. Ginny was an active member of the Junior League and the PEO Chapter here in Albuquerque. She helped Dick after the opening of Dick Bluestein Jewelers in 1971, where she enjoyed helping customers. Playing bridge and entertaining were her favorite activities. She had strong ties with her Morrow family relations in the Raton area. She attended St. John's Cathedral. Virginia will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 4, 2008, 2:00 p.m., at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John, 318 Silver SW. A reception at the Cathedral of St. John will take place after the service. A private internment of cremated remains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
