YORK -- Stacy Lynn York, a long-time Albuquerque, N.M., resident passed away at home on Good Friday, March 21, 2008 after a long illness. Stacy was born on February 8, 1969, in Talihina, Oklahoma to Robyn Jonelle and Milford James York. She married Adam Chess of Albuquerque, N.M. in May 2007. Her husband, Adam Chess, and daughter, Haley Dane York-Chess, of the home and son, Jeremy Joseph York and his partner, Marissa Basler, of Albuquerque, NM survive Stacy. She is also survived by Robyn York, mother; and Kim York, sister, of Germantown, MD; and Milford J. York, father and his wife, Ann York, of McAlester, OK; and two half-brothers, Michael York, Tulsa, OK and Greg York, of McAlester; and John Grover, step-brother, of McAlester, OK. Other survivors include Billie Scott, grandmother, of Bristow, OK; Ruth Bible, aunt; Sundala Pinon, cousin, of Okemah, OK., and Mallory Bible, cousin, Ileana Bible-Dunson, second cousin of Tulsa, OK; Alexis Bible-Crosley, aunt, Alex Alvarez, cousin, Christopher Crosley, cousin, AJ and Abigail Alvarez, second cousins of Glenpool, OK.; Steve York, uncle and his wife, Donna York, of Chickasha; OK and Todd York, cousin, of Norman, OK. There are other aunts and uncles and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews residing in states of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by John Ellis Scott, grandfather; Kelli Danielle, sister; and John Anthony York, brother; Michael Ian Bible, cousin; and Alicia Alvarez, second cousin, of Oklahoma; and George Effman, stepfather, of Maryland. All will miss Stacy's gentle ways, nurturing, compassionate nature, and her piercing wit and humor. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2008, at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel followed by a memorial luncheon at 3:00 p.m. at the home of family friend, Ms. LaDonna Harris, and supported by the Americans for Indian Opportunity, Inc.
