IRISH -- Robert Ellsworth Irish, born March 20, 1928 in Raton, NM died at his home in Albuquerque, NM on March 24, 2008. He had just celebrated his 80th birthday. He is survived by his wife, Louise; his three children and their spouses, Earl Irish and wife, Sue, Amy Brett and husband, Tim, and Clayton Irish and wife, Carol; five grandchildren, Mary Irish, Leslie Weimer, Glen Ingram, Allison Merow, and Darrell Irish; three great-grandchildren, Emilie Grace Weimer, Chloie Louise Weimer, and Cormac Irish Ingram; nephews, Gene Coleman, and Johnny and Jeffrey Irish; nieces, Earlene Quigley, Bernadette Wagner, Becky Cresswell, and Jenny Lou Irish; and many wonderful in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ethel Irish; his three brothers, Clayton, Berdette, and Allison Irish; and his two sisters, Georgiana Coleman and Carrie McGee. His family and friends knew him as a loving husband and father who had an avid passion for life and bowling. He was very proud of being the past president of the Albuquerque Men's Bowling Association and the New Mexico State Men's Bowling Association, and being inducted into the Albuquerque Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He received many awards for his accomplishments, including several for a 300 game. Bob had worked in the auto parts business his entire life with his latest place of employment being at Karl Malone Toyota until the age of 78. He loved his work and missed his fellow employees immensely. Bob and his wife Louise had taken many trips and cruises during their life together. They loved visiting their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Washington and Alaska. They enjoyed their many vacations. Clayton and Carol Irish, the only children living in Albuquerque, have been their mother and father's greatest strength. Robert Irish will be greatly missed. He remains embedded in our hearts forever, and we now release him into God's loving arms.
