COLSON -- Ronald Colson, 66, a resident of Belen, New Mexico passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque. He was born on November 4, 1941 in Durango, CO. Ron had been an avid outdoorsman and loved camping and fishing with Norma, his beloved wife of 39 years. They traveled far and wide in their home on wheels, bringing home tales and pictures of the many wonderful parts of the country they had visited. He had been an active member of balloon crews and the search and rescue volunteer association. A skilled mechanic, he had also been involved with pit crews for drivers at the Albuquerque Raceway. Along with Norma, Ron is survived by his sister Shirley Miller and her husband Allan, of Carlsbad, N.M., nephew, Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Ray, of Fort Irwin, CA, and nieces Jodi Coleman, of Clovis, NM, and Analise Marie Plut, of Albuquerque, and his beloved Dachshund Katarina. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Palm Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Service located at 1100 Coal SE, Albuquerque. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, March 10, 2008 also in the Palm Chapel. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
