CHAVEZ -- Gene (Juaquin) passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2008 at the age of 52. Gene was born in Vaughn, NM on November 12, 1955 to Carmen Chavez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen; his grandfather, Isidro Madril; his brother, Lonnie Herrera; and an aunt, Orlie Trujillo. Gene is survived by his 92 year old grandmother, Beatrice Madril; his two sons, Gene Chavez II and wife, Denise, Jose R. Chavez; a daughter, Melissa; five grandchildren, Julian, Jennifer, Sariah, Jose Jr. and Joey; siblings, Theresa Gonzales, Irene, Leroy, and Randy Herrera, three aunts; Lydia Gutierrez, Connie Gauna, and Stella Luna, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His cremains will be buried with his grandfather Isidro Madril in Vaughn, NM. Services are pending. Gene will be truly missed. For those who knew him, we ask for your prayers for him and his family.
