AUGE -- Helen Auge, age 87, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008. She was a member of the Python Sisters since 1951, where she held many offices on the state level. Helen was a representative to the Python International Convention for several years. She was also a member of the Masonic Widow's group. Helen was one of the original founders of Auge Sales and Service. She married Harry Auge in 1939 and traveled with him during the war. When they returned to Belen they started a repair shop along with Harry's brother, Lee Auge. Eventually the business developed into Auge Sales and Service when they became Dodge Dealers in 1951. Helen worked as the head accountant for over 40 years. Helen and Harry were very active in the New Mexico Auto Dealers Association. She enjoyed traveling with Harry in their motor home where they attended many Auto Dealer functions throughout the United States and abroad. Helen enjoyed her family and friends, but one of the greatest joys in her life were her cats. She had an extensive collection of cat collectables, and she never turned away a stray. Helen will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her presence. She is survived by two brothers-in-law, Lee Auge and wife, Ruth and Ray Auge and wife, Chris all of Belen; and sister-in-law, Irene Turnley of Tennessee. Helen was known to every one as Aunt Helen. Having no children of her own, she had two special nephews and nieces, Ed Auge and wife, Denese and Robert Auge and wife, Nelda all of Belen whom she considered her children. She is also survived by other special nieces and nephews, Cheryl Auge Shaffersman and husband, Brett of Fremont, Nebraska, Sandra Auge Allen and husband, Ron of Albuquerque, Glen Auge and wife, Lynn of Albuquerque, Donald Auge and wife, Becky of Los Lunas, Ray Turnley of Albuquerque, Patricia Karren and husband, Roger of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kay Wickline of Scottsdale, Arizona, Earlene Turnley of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Commander Andrew Turnley and wife, Lynn of San Diego, California. She is also survived by her dear friend, Erlinda Garcia of Belen. A public viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, on Sunday, March 9, 2008from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 75 Manzano Express-Way, on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jay Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at the Sandia Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 9500 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be her great-nephews, Tim, David, Jeremy, Glen and Donald Auge and Ron Allen. The Auge family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Cohen, Erlinda Garcia and the staff of Beehive Homes of Los Lunas for their support and care of Helen.
