SMITH -- OSCAR Oscar Moses Smith, 76, born April 2, 1931, in Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on February 19, 2008. Oscar is the beloved father to Sandra Jean Smith-Montes and husband, Ruben; Charles John Smith, Michael Anthony Smith, Edward Allen Smith and wife, Mary Ann; Donna Leigh Howard and Mary Elizabeth Smith, Charles John, Michael Anthony, born in Landstuhl, Germany; Edward Allen, born in Kansas City, MS; Donna Leigh, born in Albuquerque; Mary Elizabeth born in Landstohl, Germany; his sisters, Willie Mae and Rose of Oklahoma City, JoAnna, Martha, Lorene and Naomi of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lucy of Charleston, SC.; his four grandchildren, Carmella Cordova and husband, Vicent Carlos J. Smith; DominicSmith Montes and Phillip P. Hern; three great-grandchildren, Alexis M. Smith. Marissa N. Cordova and Dominic Montes Jr. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Smith; his brothers, John and Richard WIlliam; sisters, Jessie Mae and Mary Lee; Priscilla Smith and Earline Merkman. Oscar was a Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era serving for over twenty years. Oscar was a world traveler. He was stationed in Texas, Wyoming, Florida, Japan, Germany, Vietnam, Virginia, Missouri and California. After Florida he retired from the military and was employed in Saudia Arabia and Iran. Oscar lived in Madrid, Spain, Asmara, Ethiopha (Erithia), Bangkok, Tailand and loved to vacation Addis Ababa, Ethiopha, Madrid Spain, Cario Egypt and Amman, Jordan. Oscar was a 32nd degree Mason and a Licensed Real Estate Broker. Visitation for Oscar will be Monday, February 25, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. A Committal Service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow at 1:00 p.m. honors by the United States Army. Pallbearers will be Ruben Montes, Dominic Montes, Phillip Hern, Vincent Cordova, Ronnie Padilla and Ray Padilla. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Morturay 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW 243-7861
