MCQUINN -- Chester A. (Chet-Chad) McQuinn was born October 3, 1921 in Seattle, WA to Bertha Heglen and Floyd McQuinn. He was also preceded in death by his other fathers whom he loved. Other loved fathers were Garnet D. Higginbotham and Marion C. Farmer. Chet graduated from Kirtland High School in Kirtland, WA in 1939 and worked in the San Francisco Bay area, Puget Sound Navy Yard in Bremerton, WA and served as a Yeoman First Class in the Navy during World War II. He attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA and graduated with honors from the University of Idaho in Moscow in 1949. Mr. McQuinn married Lucille in Mullan, ID in 1943. She died four days short of celebrating their 50th anniversary. They lived for 40 years in Butte, MT. He was also married to Arcida for 10 years, and lived in Los Lunas, NM. She passed away last fall. He is survived by Karen Wemple, her children, Kerri, Jaime and Kevin, and her grandchildren, Kharissa, Taylor and Tyson who live in Lethbridge, Aberta; Colleen and Fritz Wiebelhaus and their son, Max live in Albuquerque, NM; surviving sister, Joy Hill, Marysville, WA and is pre-deceased by his brother, Garnet B. Higginbotham; sisters, Dorothy Melker, Barbara Leonard, and Johannah Grigsby. In 1977, he retired from the Internal Revenue Service as the District Director's Agent after 31 years of U.S. Government Services. He received the Albert Gallatin award. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Butte where he served on the Vestry and was Treasurer. He was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Los Lunas, NM. He was a Life Member of Butte Lodge No. 240 BPO Elks where he was past Exalted Ruler and Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Montana South. He was selected as Elk of the Year in Butte, MT and Belen, NM (Elks Lodge No. 2499). He was a member of the Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion, Summit Valley Lodge No. 123, the Scottish Rite Bodies and Bagdad Temple of the Shrine in Butte, MT. He also enjoyed membership in the alumni for his high school and University. After a short illness, he passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008.
