SMITH -- Dewey E. Smith, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008. He is survived by his son, Robert E. Smith and wife, Cecilia W. of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, JoAnn Greene of Lawndale, NC; grandchildren, Lesley Worrell and husband, Kevin, Evan Smith and wife, Maria, and Patricia Grigg and husband, Robert; great-grandchildren, Dameon N. Smith, John Robert Grigg, and Kyla C. Worrell; and other relatives and friends. Dewey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Emma A. Smith. He was born on October 1, 1918, in Licking, MO to Robert E. and Sarah E. Smith. Dewey retired from the United States Navy and the United States Postal Service after serving in WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and no service is planned.
