HANDLEY -- Bob R. Handley died at his home in Shell Beach, CA on Jan. 17, 2008. He was born in Hereford, TX in December 1929 to Ernest and Lois Handley. As a child he moved to Santa Fe and later to Albuquerque. He graduated from AHS and UNM. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. In 1951 he married Beverlee. In 1953 he began working for GMAC as a field representative in Albuquerque. He was transferred to the NYC office in 1969. After eight moves and 41 years of service he retired in Thousand Oaks, CA as manager of the Western Region and a member of the GMAC Executive Committee. He and Beverlee retired to their home in Shell Beach in 1993. He became very active in RAMS (retired active men), the Elks Club and the American Legion. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grover Beach. He was a faithful worker for the South County People's Kitchen for years. He also became a golfer after he retired. Bob and Beverlee had three children, Bobette, Brent and Bill. He is survived by his wife, Beverlee; daughter, Toni B.(Gerhard) Kornberger of Moorpark, CA; son, E. Brent (Jayne) Handley Napa, CA; two granddaughters, Matejka and Bianca Handley; his sister, Yvonne Elliott, Albuquerque and Keno Bay, MX; and sister-in-law, Junile (Bill) Willingham, Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his son, William R. Handley. A Memorial Service was held at his church in California on Monday, January 21, 2008.
