GARCIA -- Joseph N. Garcia, 83, a resident of Albuquerque and formerly of Belen, began his eternal life in Heaven on Friday, February 1, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Ida, of 58 years; his children, Ray Garcia and wife, Carla, Anne Garcia, Richard Garcia, Dr. Angeline Fitzgerald and husband, Jeff; three grandchildren, Cadet Marco Garcia, Ashley and Brian Fitzgerald; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Joseph retired from the Belen Public Schools where he worked as a teacher, High School Counselor, Director of Guidance, Director of Instruction, Head of Special Ed and Head Start Programs, High School Principal and Superintendent of Schools. A Service will be held at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd., on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 with Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
