CARPENTER -- Bernard Carpenter, Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 31, 2008. Bernie was born on August 7, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to Robert and Mary A. Carpenter. He served in the US Air Force at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama and at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA. He was a Technical Photographer (retired) at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Butler Services. He and his wife owned and operated, Carpenter's Hearts n Flowers since 1978. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Associate member of the Past Presidents Club and Retired Eagles Club. He has lived in Santa Fe, NM for the past 44 years. He is survived by his wife, Ramona of 52 years; sons, Kim Carpenter, fiancee, Linda Daly of Phoenix, AZ, Sean Carpenter, fiancee, Lori Weldon of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Kathy Denmark and husband, James of Savannah, GA; grandsons: Christopher Tapia and wife, Erica of Santa Fe, Dustin Carpenter of Phoenix, AZ, Niko Sean Carpenter of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter: Lexi Jade Carpenter of Boise, ID, Rachel Carpenter of Phoenix, AZ, Desiree Carpenter of Santa Fe; great granddaughter, Zoey Carpenter-Thoman of Santa Fe; brother, Robert J. Carpenter and wife Penny of Panama City, FL; brother-in-law, Natividad Anaya and wife, Helen; sisters-in-law, Betty Martinez and Rita Cde Baca; his loving Irish family in Ireland and England; many nephews and nieces of Santa Fe and Florida; many other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 5, 2008, noon at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Natividad Anaya, Dane Morgan, Tom Sedillo, Scott Evans, Tom Archuleta, and Frank Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Bunker and Marcos Vigil.
