MARTIN -- (White), Natalie Dawn Natalie Dawn Martin (White) passed away as a result of a traffic accident on January 21, 2008. Natalie was born May 26, 1966, in Albuquerque, NM. She attended local elementary and junior high schools and was a 1984 graduate of Sandia High School. She attended Eastern New Mexico University and the University of New Mexico, and especially loved studying Political Science and Philosophy. Natalie lived in California, Arkansas, and Texas during her short lifetime, but was elated to return "home" to Albuquerque shortly before the accident that took her life. She enjoyed interacting with and helping people, and worked in various positions as a caregiver or customer service provider. Truly a free spirit, Natalie always showed a zest for life and made everybody she met feel comfortable around her - family, friends, co-workers, and strangers - everybody. She always appreciated the little things in life - the things that many of us take for granted. She loved walking in the rain, feeding the birds, the way her dogs would stare at her when they wanted to go for a walk, and just sitting outside on a nice day listening to music and writing her poetry. She had such a magical aura radiating from her at all times. We will truly miss her and are thankful that love lives on forever in Heaven and in our hearts. Natalie is survived by her mother, Elaine Carter and husband, Sam; father, Frank L. Martin and wife, Linda; brother, Anthony (Tony) Martin (son, Sean); brother, Jerel K. Martin and wife, Kelly (children, Rhiannon and Forest); step-sister, Rhonda Hawkins and husband, Paul (children, Tracey, Arthur, Mary Jane and Alex); step-sister, Kellie Messer and husband, Toby (son, Tanner); and step-brother, David Shoemate and wife, Yolanda (children, James, Sara, and Michael). Natalie is also survived by her former husband and forever Love, Huey White (children, Melissa and Jason White). Many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive her and of course, her beloved dogs, Dylan and Skylar. Natalie was preceded in death by her step-father, Jimmie Shoemate; step-brother, Kevin Shoemate; her maternal grandparents, Bill and Estelle Cooper; and her paternal grandparents, Gene and Eileen Brown. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Natalie's life at a memorial service on Friday, February 1, 2008, at 11:00 am. The Service will be held at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Humane Society, a local animal shelter or rescue organization, or a charity of your choice.
