GURULE -- Maria "Susie" Gurule, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Thursday, January 24, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Sisneros and husband, Lewis; grandchildren, Sande, Anthony and wife, Szlvie; Michael and wife, Rhonda; Robbie and wife, Michelle; Beverly Westfall and husband, Tony; and Patricia Friberg; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Katie McKnight; and brothers, Albert and Anselmo Montoya. Mrs. Gurule was preceded in death by her husband, Felix; parents, Patricio and Josefa Montoya; and brothers, Manuel, Maclovio, Celso, Patricio and Antonio Montoya. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. During World War II she was a "Rosie the Riveter." She was employed with The Zia Corp. in Los Alamos, NM as an accountant and retired in 1984 after 36 years of service. Mrs. Gurule assisted in developing the Los Alamos Credit Union and was member #2. During her retirement, she traveled the US and foreign countries. She thanks her card playing partners for all the pleasures they brought her. Rosary will be recited Sunday, January 27, 2008, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 28, 2008, 1:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Private interment of cremated remains will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
