NEWMAN -- Teresa Rose Newman passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 in Albuquerque at the age of 69. Ms. Newman was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She was also a docent at the Hispanic Cultural Center as well as a member of Toastmasters. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Atencio; mother, Margaret Mondragon; and sister, Nancy Mascarenas. Ms. Newman is survived by her children, Jeri Sokolosky and husband, David, Sharon Carrillo and husband, Morris, and Phillip E. Atencio Jr.; sisters, Mary A. Lucero and Fanny Lucero; grandchildren, Joe and wife, Crissy, Kirk, Kirsti, Patty, Julie, Morris, and Amy; special friends, Shirley Frankowiak and Flora Gomez; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening, January 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Atencio, Kirk Sokolosky, Morris Carrillo IV, Benny Lucero, Daniel Frankowiak, and Nick Palladino.
