MOYA -- Josephine Moya, 97, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. She was born on May 16, 1910 in Old Town. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cristobal and Beatriz Moya; sisters, Grace Romero and Mela Moya; brother, Nick Moya; and sister-in-law, Viola G. Moya. She is survived by her brothers, Joe G. Moya, Billy L. Moya, Sr. and wife, Bessie, Edward F. Moya and wife, Virginia, all of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine, a teacher, taught at Chilili, Frost, Canoncito, NM, and Reginald Chavez Elementary School in Albuquerque. Josephine was a life-long member of San Felipe de Neri parish. She was also a member of The Sacred Heart League and Altar Society at San Felipe. Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 11, 2008, 7:00 p.m., at San Felipe de Neri Parish, 2005 N. Plaza NW, in Albuquerque with Deacon Jose Lucero reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008, 9:00 a.m., at San Felipe de Neri Parish with Father Dennis Garcia, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howard LaValley, Bryan Machtinger, Chris Moya, Franklin Burke, Dan Mayfield, and Joe Chavira. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 N. Plaza NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104.
