MCLEAN -- Hope "Hoppie" Madeline McLean passed away on Monday, January 7, 2008 in Socorro, NM. She was born in Morgantown, WV to John and Mayme (Pitman) Chapman. She was one of the founders of the Dravosburg, PA Women's Club and the Dravosburg Public Library. She was active member of the St. John's Evangelical Luthern Church in Dravosburg. She attended West Virginia University after graduating from high school. She was a resident of Socorro, NM since 1981. Hoppie is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Harold M. Chapman. She is survived by her daughters: Karin Kirkland and husband, Russ of Socorro; and Jane Dearman and husband, James of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Adrienne Bryce and husband, Scott of Colorado Springs, CO; Wendy Powell of San Angelo, TX; Benjamin Dearman and wife, Christina of Denton, TX; Rebecca Harkins and husband, Chris of Amarillo, TX; Lee Ann Gibson and husband, Pat of Rio Rancho, NM; and Dana Kirkland of Rio Rancho; great-grandchildren: Ashly McCutchan, Mason Malone, Douglas Powell, Eleanor Dearman, Harrison Dearman, Abigail Parkins, Sophia Parkins, Holly Gibson, and Hillary Gibson; one great-great-grandchild, Alissa McCutchan; and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Socorro with Rev. John Gregg officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Animal Protection Association of Socorro, PO Box 451, Socorro, NM 87801. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM. 575 835-1530.
