VAZQUEZ -- Lydia Vazquez, 70, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2007, surrounded by her family. Lydia was born on September 28, 1937 to Prospero and Herlinda (Vizcaino) Velasquez of Silver City, NM. She graduated from Albuquerque High School. Ms. Vazquez worked for the Social Security Administration. Ms. Vazquez was, also, a member of Iglesia Congregacional Unida (UCC), loved to solve puzzles, make blankets, go camping, fishing and travel. She will be fondly remembered for her deep faith and her love of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Ricky Gutierrez, in 1979. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Emilio C. Artiaga; children, Judy Anaya Castillo and husband, Jesus of Los Lunas, NM, Daniel Gutierrez; Jeanette Gutierrez, and Eileen Gutierrez, all of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Garcia and Lillian Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will mourn her passing. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Palm Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave SE. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 28, at 11:00 A.M. also at the Palm Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services. Ms. Vazquez will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque. Reverend Daniel Erdman will preside over the services. Pallbearers will be Pablo Cordova, Alex Hernandez, Rito Alarcon, Cesar Alarcon, Jacob Anaya, and Patrick Chavez.
