TORRES -- Tomasita (Tomi) Torres, age 95, very loving mother and grandmother, was called to Eternal Life by the Lord, Sunday, December 2, 2007. She was born in Socorro, NM in 1912; and was a resident of Albuquerque. Mrs. Torres was preceded in death by her parents, Hijino and Josifita Rivera; five brothers; and one sister; and her husband, Joe, to whom she was married for over 61 years. Mrs. Torres is survived by her loving children, Val Torres and wife, Dee Dee, Joe Torres and wife, Lori, Rusti Torres, Arthur Torres, George Torres and wife, Loretta, Cathy Strilich and husband, Bob; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Mrs. Torres will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Final viewing will be Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Rick Torres, Leon Torres, Matthew Torres, Arthur Torres Jr., Joey Torres Jr., Michael Strilich, and Ryan Strilich. Honorary bearers will be Val Torres, Joe Torres Jr., Arthur Torres, George Torres, and Bob Strilich.
