ATKIN -- Phyllis M. Atkin, resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 15, 2007. She was born May 3, 1931 in Columbus, OH to the late Harry and Miriam Mathless. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Martin Atkin; two sons, Gregory and his wife, Kathleen of Albuquerque, Darrell and his wife, Dona of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Hillary Atkin of Santa Monica, CA; six grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel, Evan, Michael, David, and Rebecca Atkin; her brother, Paul Mathless and his wife, Surang, of Washington, D.C; two sisters, Eileen Spector and husband, Donn of Denver, CO, and Barbara Trager and her husband, Tom, of Boulder, CO. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachel Atkin; and by a brother, Leonard Mathless. Phyllis was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed. She was a sweet and caring woman who was loved by many. Graveside Services were held Friday, November 16, 2007, 3:00 p.m., at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd. SE, with Rabbi Joseph R. Black officiating. The Atkin family would like to thank the staff of The Cottages and Sol Amor Hospice for taking such good care of Phyllis.
