HUGHES -- Crystal Allen Hughes, 81, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 4, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born September 25, 1926, in Buffalo, WY, to William and Crystal Allen. The family moved to New Mexico in 1942. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended McCauley Business College. She was employed by the US Forest Service until she married in 1950. Later, she worked for Eckert's Auto Service for ten years. Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Hughes, and recently, her son, Stuart Hughes. She is survived by her daughter, Maggie Zahm; granddaughter, Allyson Wallace; and grandsons, Adam Zahm and Aaron Zahm. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007, at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
